Spring cleaning came early this year at the CGO/JGO house!! We cleaned out tons of "crap" that we had been holding onto for whatever reasons. Clothes, shoes, miscellaneous items. We're having a garage sale and getting rid of it!
We also decided to reuse the current doors we have instead of buying new ones. Or, I should say...I finally convinced Chris that our solid wood doors could really look great! So we bought sandpaper, primer, and paint...and tackled the task of making our doors look brand new!
This is a before picture of one of the doors, but they all look the same.
Since we bought the house, Chris kept saying he wanted new doors because these were awful!! My grandpa, on the other hand, swore that it was nothing a little paint couldn't fix. And boy was he ever right!! They look amazing now! You would never think they're the same ugly doors.
We are both thrilled with the results, and we're now looking at other things we can salvage. Now we just need new hardware for the doors. The ones that were on the doors just weren't our style, so we are buying something else. But the house is coming along quite nicely! :) But, in order for you to appreciate the house now...you have to see what it looked like before. So, here is the living room when we first bought the house.
And, here is our living room now sans crown molding and ceiling fan. (FYI...I blurred the not so pretty picture of me on the couch).
